Some people create monthly budgets while others set them up weekly. Your budget should consist of your income and expenses. In the beginning, your budget will not be perfect, but it will get better the more you work on it.

Pay off debt

The next easy finance tip is to pay off your debts. Paying off debt is something that I’m currently working on. The less debt that you have, the more money that you will be able to save and invest with. There are a few ways that you can pay off your debt. Two ways are very popular with people right now. The first way is to pay off your high-interest debt first. The second way is to use the debt snowball.

Automatic bill pay

The next personal finance tip is to set up automatic bill pay. This works well for you if you are a person that forgets a lot of stuff. Setting up automatic bill payments will make sure that your bills get paid on time. That way you won’t get any annoying late fees. Your bank or credit union’s website will show you how to set the auto payments up. It is very easy.

Save your change

Saving your change is another tip that you can follow. Whenever I get change, I put it in an empty juice bottle. Once the bottle gets full, I then deposit the money into a bank account. It’s good to be able to deposit a little bit of “extra” money at the end of each year.

Check your bank account

Checking your bank accounts is the fifth tip. When I say check your account, I mean that you should make sure that you aren’t being charged any crazy fees. Some banks will charge you if you don’t have a certain amount of money in the account while others will charge you if you are making too many transactions. If you find out that you are being charged a crazy fee, please look for a bank or credit union that doesn’t charge them.

Free or cheap parking

If you like to go to sporting events or concerts, you may know that parking at the venue can be ridiculous. If you park a few blocks away, you may be able to find cheap or even free parking. Make sure that it is in a safe area, though. In certain cities, this is easier said than done. If free or cheap parking isn’t an option, there is always Uber.
